It is election day in the United States. Christians have a responsibility to engage following these principles:
- It is your duty and responsibility to vote.
- Pray. Seek wisdom. Be Spirit led.
- Be informed, not influenced. Conform opinions and actions to God’s Word.
- Remember God is in control. He is sovereign over all. Whatever the outcome, it is part of His plan.
- How you respond is your responsibility. Remember whose we are. We are people of faith, and we love one another even when we disagree.
- A divided country needs to see a unified Church.
Consider Jesus’s prayer for His disciples, and for Believers in the world in such a time as this. “I am not praying for these alone but also for the future believers who will come to Me because of the testimony of these. My prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as You and I are, Father—that just as You are in Me and I am in You, so they will be in us, and the world will believe You sent Me.” John 17:20-21 TLB
