It’s Thanksgiving Day in America.
No matter whether it is Thanksgiving Day where you are or not, this is the day the Lord has made. The appropriate position is one of gratitude. Gratitude for God’s grace and faithfulness in our day to day lives. And gratitude for His sending Jesus to die for us on the cross that we might have eternal life.
Let this day be framed by these prayers of thanksgiving and gratitude as you share in the providence and goodness of God:
A Psalm For Thanksgiving
Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100 NASB
Thanksgiving Meal Prayer
Father, we come before you with grateful hearts. As we consider the great gifts you have given us, we want this day to be marked by gratitude for all that you have done. We offer our praise to you for the gift of Jesus Christ and for His victory over death that our sins would be forgiven, that we would be reconciled with you and live eternally in your presence. We bow before you in faith and humility knowing that you are the one true God, worthy of all our praise, honor, and glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
Thanksgiving, A Psalm Of Gratitude
The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23 NKJV
