Wednesday Worship: All Praise And Honor And Glory Be Unto The Lord Our God

Sep 4, 2024

Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Declare His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! Honor and majesty surround Him; strength and joy fill His dwelling. O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory He deserves! Bring your offering and come into His presence. Worship the Lord in all His holy splendor. 1 Chronicles 16:23-25, 27-29 NLT

Application (Note 1): An active effort to close the gap between one’s heart and the God it adores is worship at its best. David, king, prophet, and a man after God’s own heart, worshipped God with wild abandon. In this passage, he leads the Israelites in a celebration of the return of the Ark Of The Covenant to its rightful place in the tabernacle in Jerusalem. David declares a time of thanksgiving and praise. Throughout this psalm, he praises the greatness of God, His wondrous works, and His goodness. “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting.” (v36). Let us do likewise.

Note 1: We are in a series on worship. About recognizing that the Church is not peripheral to the world, that the world is peripheral to the Church. Jesus at the center of it all. About what worship looks like from that Worldview. About offering the totality of our lives as an act of worship to a loving, majestic, and faithful God.
