The fruit of the earth is not brought to perfection immediately, but by time, rain, and care. Similarly the fruit of men ripen through ascetic practice, study, time, and perseverance.

As we grow in Christ, our spirtual formation manifests itself through the growth (ripening) of the Fruit of The Spirit in our lives; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 HCSB
