God’s Mulligan: Amazing Grace

Nov 5, 2020

Wikipedia, with whom I have a love hate relationship, defines a mulligan as “a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder.”

Here is what the Bible, a somewhat more authoritive resource than Wikipedia, has to say about mulligans:

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time. Jonah 3:1 (HCSB)

God is a god of second chances. And third chances. And fourth chances. To wit:

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT)

You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins. Confess them and give them up; then God will show mercy to you. Proverbs 28:13 (GNT)

The amazing grace that saved you is available fresh to you each morning. Take the mulligan.
